Cherry Head Tortoise 'Rueben' Adult Male

He is a very active tortoise and requires fresh food and water daily. 

While Rueben must have access to free roam around the home (supervised) and ideally an outdoor yard (weather permitting), he does need a large habitat to sleep and bask under heat and UVB. 

Due to his size, this enclosure would be custom made. It can be wood with a sealed bottom or even a modified clip together pet pen with a liner to hold substrate.

We hold for up to 2 weeks with payment to get your proper setup ready. Longer than this is possible at our boarding rates.

PROOF OF 5 FT+ ENCLOSURE IS MANDATORY. A free roam tortoise is not suitable, there is not enough humidity, heat or UVB for this forest species.

Take consideration, as he walks around your home, tortoises are not potty trained and will pee lots and have large poops. These can be on your carpets, hardwood or bedding anywhere!

Current diet:

Spring mix, arugula, pumpkin, dandelion, seasonal flowers, mushrooms, blueberries, banana, roadkill cactus pads, bell pepper, Arcadia DragonFuel, Zoo Med Forest Tortoise Diet.

Surrender Program

All proceeds from our Surrender Program go back into the program to help cover costs of equipment, feeding cleaning and veterinary care any animals require. It also supports our Evacuation Program for those displaced by wildfires and such. We provide complimentary boarding for evacuated reptiles and small animals. We donate temporary enclosures for those who can keep their reptile but was unable to bring their terrarium.
