This is an easy to grow species from the Iquitos region, Peru. It is quite tolerant of a variety of conditions and is well suited for terrarium growing. Sold as an established plant.
When grown in a more arid enclosure the leaves take on a more angular appearance, when grown in more typical terrarium conditions the leaves are oblong or circular (as seen here). Sold as cuttings, each portion containing two or three growth tip portions
This is a very striking slow growing species from lowland forests of eastern Peru. Does best in low light, high humidity and warm temperature. Slow growing but not difficult to grow. $85 for an established/rooted plant.
This form from the Montane forests near Tingo Maria, Peru is similar to the Ecuadorian E. peltatum var. Standleyi however the frond size on this Peruvian form is smaller and from what we have experienced the growth is more compact.
A gentle transition of colour from the new growth and the subtle red venation retained by the older growth is quite nice. Marcgravia sp. "Condor" is from the Ecuadorian expanses of the remote and beautiful Cordillera Condor. Sold as growth tip cuttings
